James Knight is a best-selling author of 13 non fiction books, spanning cricket, history, travel, social issues, and human interest stories. His latest book, released in July 2019, is the widely acclaimed ‘Back On Track’ which tells the story of larrikin social worker, Bernie Shakeshaft and the multi-award winning BackTrack Youthworks, in Armidale.
A former journalist James has worked for Networks 10, 9, 7 and Fox Sports, and written for publications including The Sydney Morning Herald and CNN Online.
He is a recreational marathon runner and off-the-beaten-track traveller who has worked as a volunteer in community centres in Ecuador and Ethiopia. He regularly visits schools, both in Australia and overseas, to conduct storytelling workshops, and is working on an international Not for Profit storytelling project for school children.
